Marley Firth is an exciting 4 year old prospect who was a very impressive winner of his only race to date, a competitive Point to Point in Ireland.
His sire Flemensfirth, who was a Group 1 winner at Longchamp on the flat, is one of NH’s very best sires, siring the likes of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander, Lexus Chase winner Tidal Bay and the 2016 Grand National runner up The Last Samuri.
Marley Firth is very closely related to the 164 rated Foxrock. If he emulates his older half brother we will all be very happy indeed.
Dan Skelton is fast becoming one of the leading NH trainings in the UK and is tipped by many in the business to be a future Champion National Hunt Trainer. He is based at Lodge Hill, which provides state of the art training facilities in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside and comes from a family steeped in horse history. His father Nick won Olympic Equestrian Gold at the London 2012 Games.
Dan describes Marley Firth as a ‘proper racehorse who has all the attributes of a natural Chaser’. However, as a 4 year old, the focus will be over hurdles as we look to develop his undoubted potential.
Early in December 2016, Marley Firth suffered a tendon injury that will rule him out for the season. Marley was always intended to be a longer term project and Dan has assured us that there is absolutely no reason why he will not go on to fulfil his undoubted potential but patience is needed. We have suspended selling shares in him until he’s back in full training.
