Anytime Will Do’s Cheltenham preparations haven’t really gone to plan with illness, the break out of the equine flu, and then the added ruling of a booster jab being needed. It meant that he made his belated comeback at Huntingdon this week, in a class 4 Novice hurdle carrying penalties of 12 pounds more than his nearest rival and 21 pounds more than a Henderson rival rated 127.  He ran really well considering and although slightly outpaced in the back straight rallied well under Harry Skelton’s pushing to challenge the leader He’s No Trouble at the last. Unfortunately he missed his stride completely and ploughed straight through the hurdle leaving Harry Houdini to cling on !  All chance of a win went and he walked over the line in 5th, but apart from that last hurdle it was a brilliant run, he probably would have won. Unfortunately he bruised a bone on his elbow and it will take a month to heal ruling him out of the Cheltenham Festival and for the rest of the season. He’ll come back bigger and fitter than ever and we’ll be aiming at plenty of big races next season.
