Surrey Warrior was bought by Archie Watson at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale with the help of Blandford Bloodstock (who also bought Surrey Breeze for us) last year. He has been in training since, and Archie recommended to us as a horse that is starting to show a lot of potential in his early days. The price has risen since that yearling sale then but could still be a bargain if the potential shown on the gallops translates to the track.

He’s a colt out of Data Link who is a stallion Archie likes, a Group 1 winning miler, but perhaps more importantly the son of the great sire War Front. War Front was decent enough over 6-7f on the dirt in the US but he’s achieved much more as a sire and now commands a stud fee of $250k !  There is a bit more distance on the dam side with the 2nd and 3rd Dams both Group horses over 10-12f,  and another point in the breeding is that the grand dam’s nephew is another Group One sire in Zoffany.

Surrey Warrior ran a great barrier trial at Lingfield this week with Eddie Greatrex on board, and we are confident that he’s ready to debut over a mile at Salisbury on September 14th. The current price is only good until the day of the debut as we expect a very promising first outing.
