After a break in Cornwall where we ascertained a year old issue, Quest joined Toby Lawes in Surrey and made his seasonal appearance with a stunning win over fences at Huntingdon, and followed that up at the end of the year with a superb, battling performance to win the iconic Mandarin Trophy at Newbury. The syndicate owners are living the dream!

He finished the year in the Scottish Grand National where he agonisingly got beaten by a nasal hair. The 24/25 season started with a gallant second at Cheltenham, off the pace but storming up the hill like never seen before, and then when going strongly took a wrong step and unseated Kevin Brogan in an attempt for back to back Mandarins. In February Quest ran a fine race in the Edinburgh National at Musselburgh, hating the ground and giving away loads of weight but still finishing a decent 3rd, then we headed with confidence to the Scottish Grand National but a stumble on landing at the very first fence made for a very flat afternoon!

Surrey Quest has now been retired. He has been a fantastic syndicate horse and has join his handler Abby to enjoy a much loved life outside of racing.
