We are delighted to offer shares in Surrey Fortune, who we purchased for £35,000 at the 2022 Goffs sale and was earmarked by Billy as one of the best horses of Day 2. He’s a ‘racier type’, so bumpers and hurdles to start, but longer term we expect him to jump a fence as a 2 to 2.5 miler. The sire Soldier of Fortune, son of the mighty Galileo, won the Irish Derby in 2007 and now stands alongside Getaway at Coolmore. His top offspring include Gr.1 Juvenile Hurdle winner Mega Fortune who was also runner-up in the Gr.1 Triumph Hurdle and Slowmotion, 5-time winner including a Gr.2 Juvenile Hurdle, Gr.3 and Listed Mares Chase. As you can see from the page there is plenty of black type and Surrey Fortune is closely related to Knappers Hill and Sionnach Eile.

Surrey Fortune has suffered with sore shins which is not uncommon with young horses so he’ll have a break and debut as a 5 year old in the new 2024 season.
