We are delighted to introduce our latest purchase Surrey Shadow, who we bought for 65 000 gns at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-up with the help of Anthony Stroud of leading bloodstock agents Stroud Coleman.

Surrey Shadow was one of only two horses in the entire sale that both Matt Coleman and Anthony Stroud agreed were worth bidding for. Despite spending slightly more than we hoped, we are thrilled to land what looks to be a great prospect.

The colt was very green in his breeze and didn’t appear to handle the softer Newmarket ground but still posted a top 30 time, not bad for a horse who will probably run over a mile and was up against a number of precocious sprinters who have really been ‘prepared’ for this breeze but are unlikely to do much as three year olds.

The sire Territories was a high class Godolphin owned miler who was 2nd in the 2000 Guineas and won the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat in 2015. Despite being a relatively new sire with his first two year olds only running in 2020, the son of Invincible Spirit has already produced Derby runner up Hoo Ya Mal  and Group 1 winner Rougir. The Dam, Elbow Beach, reached an official Rating of 70 and has produced a Group 3 4th. 

Surrey Shadow is in training with Tom Clover, he’s been gelded, and is expected to excel as a 3 year old over a mile.
