Surrey Mist - too good at Lingfield!

The Surrey Mist Syndicate owners have had to be patient following Mist’s debut last July at a very sunny Sandown. He was green then and obviously not the finished article so George has given him time to grow and mature. He looked an absolute picture in the parade ring today at Lingfield although he’s still ‘leggy’ and probably not suited to Lingfield’s tight bends. Trevor Whelan kept him handy, just off the pace in the 10 furlong race and he was always travelling nicest but Mist still ran green and didn’t handle the final turn, However he still had more than enough gas to power away and win by a very comfortable 4 lengths to the delight to the owners ! Patience indeed rewarded!

Surrey Mist was the Racing Post’s star performer with the words ’was an impressive winner, shaping as if there is plenty more to come from him’ and we hope they are right! He’ll certainly come on for the run and bigger and better things await!
