The Belle of Wolves

Surrey Belle, at the 8th attempt, in the hands of Clifford Lee finally settled in a race and stormed to a stunning success at Wolves in a class 5 handicap over 1 mile 6 furlongs. The plan was to jump from the stalls and take the lead, galloping at her own pace and with no other horses wanting to take her on she was left alone to enjoy the front running. Clifford Lee judged the sectionals superbly slowly increasing the pace before a final push around the home turn and the 1 length lead she had throughout the contest stayed intact all the way through the finishing line. We know she has talent but it’s taken her a while to really show it, hopefully this win is a catalyst for more success next season.
