Surrey King was bought in Book 2 of the 2024 Tattersalls Yearling Sale.

The pedigree speaks for itself, the sire, Palace Pier, rated the best son of the mighty Kingman, was an outstanding miler who won 5 Group 1s. Palace Pier beat Pinatubo in the G1 St James Palace and ran Baaeed to a neck conceding weight in the QE II on Champions Day.  

The dam, Highgarden, a granddaughter of the legendary Galileo, won a Group 3 over 12 furlongs and was rated 104. Surrey King is her third offspring.

Surrey King is a strapping colt who started at Newbury over 8 furlongs, unfortunately he was slow into the stalls, and just as slow out when the gates opened! He followed that up on his three year old seasonal opener with a poor performance at Salisbury, maybe explained by the diagnosis of a knee injury which has set him back to the Autumn.
