December 14th Update

No runners last week but we still hope to have a couple of runners before the year is out starting this week with Sea Presenting who has an entry at Ludlow on Wednesday in a mare’s novice hurdle over 2 miles 5 furlongs, which is a qualifier for the EBF Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Race Series Final to be run over two miles about four and a half furlongs at Newbury on Saturday, March 21st. However, if the ground is ok, the preference will be for her to run at Lingfield next Sunday, in a mare’s maiden over a slightly shorter distance and then look to run in a qualifier in the new year.

Surrey Lord should have one more race this year with a few potential options after Christmas, the two most favoured are handicap hurdles at Chepstow on the 27th (the Welsh Grand National meeting) or Newbury’s Challow meeting on the 29th. The handicapper left Lord at his rating of 112 following his run at Wincanton but did drop Surrey Quest another 2 pounds to a hurdle mark of 126, we assume chase of 131. Quest had a successful wind operation on Friday and all going well should be back cantering on Tuesday. Once he’s over his medication he will have several schooling sessions over fences.

Not too much other news, we have arranged a visit to see Surrey Moon and Surrey Bolt at the Clover’s at the end of January. With two shares left in Bolt, if anyone who may be interested in him wishes to come long then please let us know.

No new updates on Surrey King or Surrey Etoile, we do hope to arrange a visit to Chantilly early in the new year but want to check with Tim nearer the end of the month to see how long Etoile away from his debut as it could be worth waiting for that.

Good luck to the Sea Presenting owners, she’s due a win having never been out of the top 3!
