R.I.P. Sea Presenting
A very sad newsletter I’m afraid with the news that Sea Presenting won’t be going back to Henfold House after breaking down with a serious spiral leg break injury at Lingfield today. The prognosis wasn’t good from outset but there is a hospital in Newmarket that potentially could have tried to save her. We spoke to the horse ambulance who weren’t sure that she would survive the journey to Newmarket, but the vet at Lingfield explained everything to the surgeon at Newmarket, but he wasn’t sure the surgery would work and so we were left with the only humane decision left. Devasting to all those involved but especially an extremely upset Toby, Abi and Freya (who used to ride Sea Presenting before having a baby 8 weeks ago and turned up to support today) who were inconsolable after the race. Our thoughts are with everyone.
Thank you to the owners who were with me at Lingfield for acting with kindness and dignity, it’s an awful way to spend a day at the races.
I know this sounds hollow, but Steve and I wish you and your families a lovely Christmas.
