Lording It Up in Wales

Surrey Lord went to Ffos Las in good shape having blown the cobwebs away in his seasonal opener at the start of the month. With a lot of cajoling from Toby Lawes and the team at Henfold Stable’s, Lord has matured a lot over the summer (although there’s still some growing up to do!) and we were confident he had enough to win the 2 mile hurdle at Ffos Las. Kevin Brogan rode his as if he was the best horses in the race, settling at the back before easing through the gears, hitting the front (maybe a touch too early) at the second last and comfortably running on to win easing down by 3 lengths. The handicapper would have taken note but there’s certainly enough there to think he can backup again soon enough.
